Your Goals:
One of your goals is to develop a new generation of digitally focused programs that can take over from your existing product lineup. You want to achieve market success, especially in upcoming state adoptions. You want to satisfy your company stakeholders by transitioning to a new generation of revenue-producing digital products that meet the growing demand from schools, states, and consumers.

You need new ways of presenting content that is engaging and interactive, works on interactive whiteboard, tablets, and mobile devices, and also supports personalized learning.

Your desire is to have a forward-looking team develop these new products, include standards-based content aligned to Common Core and state adoptions. The  final deliverables have to be error-free and must satisfy adoption requirements, Common Core objectives, and digital submission needs.

We can help you to:
  • set up a cross-functional team to design, develop, and produce the digital products
  • develop the new or revised product, including the product plan, financial analysis, content development, and delivery of the completed product
  • prepare a reliable financial plan and provide a cost-benefit analysis for the available product development options
  • work with our roster of content specialists for ELA, Literature, STEM and Social Studies to write your state specific content and align it to state standards and Common Core
  • incorporate your existing content or create new new material by drawing on content development specialists for K-12 for ELA, Literature, STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), and Social Studies
  • add high-quality, teacher-tested interactive manipulatives for Math, Science, Technology, and Engineering (STEM) that encourage students to explore on their own
  • ‘enliven’ your content with individual practice sessions and interactive examples that engage students more deeply
  • Build the appropriate ELL, ESL, and bilingual support to meet the needs of the market
  • add digital SE and TE editions so students can study outside of class
  • convert your digital content to Flash and HTML5 to ensure portability of your content across platforms, including desktop, interactive whiteboard, iPad and other tablets, and ‘smart’ mobile devices
  • support multiple ways of learning including kinesthetic, visual, and auditory modes
  • embed assessment into your digital content and practice exercises using our SmartStudy™ technology
  • provide feedback on student understanding with our proprietary Continuous Progress Monitoring (CPM™) software

Here are examples of what we have done:

K-12 Literature: Texas Literacy program, interactive whiteboard content and
state adoptions

Situation: The marketing department at a national basal publisher was testing IWB content in a major Texas school district. They wanted to develop IWB content for the school and teachers, and also support internal training at the publisher.

Approach: The marketing departments were divided into two groups, for K-5 and 6-12. Saferock worked with both groups to take existing print programs and develop a highly graphical set of IWB lessons. Each lesson was analyzed by editorial and production. Design and graphical elements were extracted for each individual literature lesson. Activities were then developed utilizing the SMART Notebook tools.

Result: The SMART interactive lessons were used successfully at schools in Texas for a pilot program leading to state adoption. These lessons were showcased at national training seminars.

Intervention Program for Algebra: digital graphic novel, RTI, and interactive

Situation: A supplemental publisher of intervention and assessment products developed a middle school math program with a graphic story and character based content. They wanted to add interactive content.

Approach: Our editorial and technology groups planned out ways for the print and digital to interact. This was examined from the student engagement perspective, and considering RTI guidelines in design.

Result: An interactive complement was successfully developed to accompany and extend teacher-led classroom instruction. Additional exercises and examples were digitally provided that allowed students to explore and practice on their own.

Middle School Math Grades 6-8: Personalized learning and Digital Content Adoption

Situation: An innovative program was being tested in a pilot school for fully digital curriculum. Saferock was asked to help with adding interactive models and digital classroom content.

Approach: This unique problem required pulling together a joint team with content specialists, technology experts, designers, and production resources.

Result: Saferock delivered a fully-digital program enlivened with interactive components. Teacher feedback was extremely positive, and successfully led to improvement in teacher efficiency in the classroom. The program is being extended to additional schools and states.
